Trying to create some art during the summer vacation is no easy matter. Between taking one kid to one camp, the other to another camp, doing stuff around the house and making dinner there’s little time to retreat to my basement studio. Besides, who wants to be in the basement when it’s hot and sunny out?
Then it came to me, just because I’m not a landscape painter doesn’t mean I can’t work en plein air! Especially the oil paintings, that don’t require an airbrush (which needs a compressor etc.).
So I grabbed my travel easel, that I normally use for live painting at events and moved my oil painting stuff out in our back patio. I only still got only an hour of painting in, but it was definitely worthwhile.
Now that it’s set up I’ll be out there every day until the weather changes.
